Senator Robert C. Byrd served the my state in the US Senate my whole lifetime, as well as most of my mother’s. He was the reason I studied political science, registered to vote the minute I was eligible and worked so hard to make people want to care about government issues. Honestly, I am surprised he made it this long after the passing of his wife. I am really nervous of what WV will be like now that he is gone. The chances of finding someone to replace him that had such loyalty to WV is slim. RIP.
